Commander Cool is a 2D platformer where you have to beat a series of levels full of various dangers and jumps, while you kill all the enemies that cross your path and there will be more than a few of them. The game has a very traditional gameplay that basically consists of moving from one place to another using the jump button, and shooting using the second button. If you fall into one of the many holes you'll be dead, as you will if an enemy touches you, so you have to move carefully. There are 35 levels you can play set in different locations around the world, such as a jungle, desert, or tundra, all increasing in difficulty as you play. It's possible that the graphics might be familiar to more than one gamer, as the sprites for the main character and enemies are taken directly from the popular Metal Slug saga. The levels, for their part, are more reminiscent of Super Mario. Commander Cool is quite an entertaining platform game and although it could be improved in some of its aspects, it at least offers some hours of old-school entertainment.
